Szörpi brand ID

Szörpi is a recently founded cordial brand based on a unique business idea of foraging elderflowers from abandoned fields and meadows and using them to brew alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The company briefed us to design a brand identity that is free spirited, easy-going and fun. Szörpi, the brand name is a shortened form of the Hungarian equivalent of cordial and has a funny pronunciation. It sounds like when someone is sipping the last drops of a drink with a straw and the logo was based on that idea. Personalization is a great way to tell stories visually and be distinguished from other brands so we gave the drinks characters and that’s how Bodza and Hugo, the elderflower-haired boho couple was born. Bodza is the name of the non-alcoholic beverage, it means elder in Hungarian and its also a female first name. The character is fun, cute and cheeky as the sweet, fresh drink. Hugo is a bubbly, alcoholic beverage with the refreshing sweet taste of elderflowers, represented by Hugo, the easy-going hippie dude.
