Hand-in-Scan is a multi-award-winning Hungarian medical technology innovation based on sad statistics. Even in developed countries, thousands of people die every year from nosocomial infections caused by inadequate hand disinfection of healthcare workers.
Hand-in-Scan uses harmless UV light and digital imaging with artificial intelligence-based software. The self-developed program is able to distinguish effectively disinfected hand surfaces from the infected, making the information easily traceable.
Both form and interface design made it easy for users to operate the device easily and intuitively. In addition, durability and aesthetics were essential. The wall-mounted body had to adhere to both hygienic and operational standards. The Hand-in-Scan prototype has been successfully tested with more than fifteen thousand healthcare workers.
